Women speak: armenian genocide awarness

Millions of survivors fleeing the 1915 Armenian Genocide were spread worldwide. Armenians managed to create a diaspora in a number of countries, larger than the population of Armenia itself.

The new generation of the descendants continues to speak out about the Genocide, never forgetting about the roots.

There are several descendants of the Armenian genocide among the A-list celebrities, who always highlight their origin and the heritage.

There are also others, who do not belong to the nation, but speak out for the truth. We have highlighted 3 strong women, who have always raised the awareness about the Armenian Genocide.

CHER

Cher, born as Cherilyn Sarkisian, an American diva, has been referred to as the “Goddess of Pop”.

She has always spoken up about her roots. Cher was in Armenia, Yerevan in 1993.

She had a 3 day trip to her homeland, bringing humanitarian aid. The photo of Cher sitting on the broken statue of Lenin became iconic.
