Evenings with deep conversations, dancing and singing. Wine identity in the very heart of Yerevan, Saryan street. From 3 to 5 June 2022, Yerevan is taking a wine bath with a lot of buzz, cheese plates and music.

The two-day event features an Armenian wine tasting with delicious appetizers and drinks from local vintners and restaurants.

But what is behind this obsession with wine in Armenia?

Telling the truth, Armenians produced the first wines over 6,000 years ago.

The studies of grape seeds found during archaeological excavations have proved that during the 6-5th millennium BC, Armenians adapted wild grapes and have also conducted selective breedings.​​In 2011, the world’s oldest winery was discovered during the excavations in the Areni Complex in Armenia.

The winery is 6000 years old.

Today, wine is the first drink option for many Armenians, starting from traditional red with high-quality grapes to rose and white wines.
