The VANUÍ collection is inspired by the culture and history of Armenia, its ancient ornaments, patterns and alphabet.

VANUÍ is the name of a relative of Elina, the brand’s designer.

Vanui was able to survive the Armenian genocide in 1915, save her family and start a life in a new place.

Vano-mother, as her relatives affectionately called her, had a beautiful gold necklace of many coins, which she carried with her through all these years.

Many years later, she tore it up and handed out coins to her children so that they would never forget and always appreciate the history of her family and her people.

Almost all of the coins were lost, but one has survived.

This coin was inherited by the creator and designer of LUSÍN Jewerly Elina and became the inspiration for the new collection of the brand.

Using contemporary fabrics Shabeeg turned the traditional garments into prints and modernised the cuts.

While creating these patterns and prints, the team learned more about the significant roles Armenian women played in Armenian history and how they continue to impact modern society today.
