At HAY-HAY, we’re more than just a fashion hub—we’re a creative community that celebrates art, culture, and bold new voices. We love discovering emerging artists and sharing their incredible stories with the world. Whether it’s fashion, design, or art, we’re all about embracing creativity without limits.
In summer, HAY-HAY had a small vernissage event during Shapes and Dreams, an art exhibition by Armenian-born artist Anahit Diez-Gyurjyan in Zurich. Her work, like her story, is a vibrant mix of heritage, imagination, and life experiences.
Anahit Diez-Gyurjyan’s art beautifully captures the essence of her Armenian heritage and her experiences in Switzerland. Her bold use of red and blue stems from Armenia's vibrant landscapes and deep cultural roots.
"The Armenian heritage definitely is responsible for the boldness, the red, the blue. I'm not scared of very strong colors. Those colors really are me."
But living in Switzerland for over 18 years has also influenced her palette, introducing softer tones and a refined contrast to her work.
“The interplay between the two cultures is very interesting—depending on who looks at the painting, they might see something different.”
Her paintings are a mix of memories, emotions, and colors, bringing light and joy into the world. Through her work, she hopes to evoke a smile and offer a brighter outlook, even in challenging times.
Art, for Anahit, is much like fashion—a statement of who we are.
"Fashion is a statement of who you are, and art is the same way. Whatever I put on the canvas, it’s to communicate who I am and what I feel."
Her exhibition always serve as a bridge between worlds, a celebration of identity, and a powerful reminder of the beauty that comes from blending heritage with new experiences.
