At Opéra Garnier, YS Couture revealed a collection, drawing us in through details, atmosphere, and emotion.
Founded in Kyiv by designer Yanis Stepanenko, the demi-couture brand is rooted in a dialogue between heritage and contemporary expression. This season’s collection, Guérison d’Or (Healing in Gold), reflects on transformation as an ongoing, deeply personal process.

Gold runs throughout the collection as a quiet narrative thread. It carries ideas of resilience, preservation, and the ability to reshape experience into something lasting and meaningful.
The silhouettes suggest structure and discipline, with subtle references to ceremonial dress and historical forms. At the same time, they remain fluid and adaptable. A transformable shawl in pleated golden brocade moves easily between volume and restraint. Black jacquard looks are layered with sheer elements and hand embroidery, creating a balance between density and lightness. In contrast, the red pieces bring a stronger emotional presence.

A recurring dove motif appears across the collection, hinting at inner freedom and renewal. It adds a symbolic layer without becoming overt, allowing the narrative to remain open.
The collection was brought to life through a close collaboration with a network of creatives and artisans: footwear by Kachorovska Atelier, bags by Lona Prist, jewelry by Lobortas, and hats by Marta Holod. The result feels collective, where each contribution supports the overall narrative without overpowering it.

YS Couture steps away from seasonal urgency and focuses on longevity. The garments carry cultural references, craftsmanship, and emotional depth designed to be worn, kept, and passed on.
For us, the experience was less about a single show moment and more about discovering a clear point of view - one that resonates with what we value at HAY-HAY: authenticity, nuance, and a thoughtful connection between past and present.
