Collection: BORBALA
BORBALA is an upcycling fashion collective with roots in Budapest and Tirgu-Mures, founded by Borbala Ferencz. Growing up in post-communist Romania, Borbala began creating beauty from the most accessible material she had: trash. This process of turning limitations into creative possibilities forms the core of BORBALA’s philosophy.
The collective specializes in crafting one-of-a-kind, experimental clothing and jewelry using industrial textile waste, post-consumer plastic, and second-hand materials. Their aesthetic is bold, colorful, and spontaneous, blending the old and the new, the discarded and the precious. By deconstructing and regenerating second-hand clothes, BORBALA brings traditional techniques such as patchwork, quilting, and textile collage into the modern fashion landscape.
More than just a brand, BORBALA engages with the community by hosting workshops to showcase their upcycling techniques and raise awareness about the impact of plastic pollution.
